Since its founding in 2001, Jambalaya Arts Inc. has supported hundreds of local artists through exhibitions, memberships, classes, and its active role in the downtown arts scene. Its gallery is a consistent anchor for monthly Gallery Walks, a contributor to the newly developed Gallery Walk artist database, and a host for the popular Night Gallery, and annual Art in the Alley events in the Algoma Art Alley throughout the summer.
A Major Milestone: 25 Years Strong
The February 2026 Gallery Walk will feature a special 25th Anniversary All-Members Show, celebrating the diverse and vibrant work of artists who have shaped the organization's history. The public is invited to join in the celebration, meet the artists, and learn about the next chapter for Jambalaya Arts Inc.
Introducing The Jamb: A Community Hub for Expression
Opening with a soft launch in late March 2026 and a Grand Opening in April, The Jamb will serve as an inclusive space where the community can gather, create, learn, and connect.
The new location will offer:
- Music performances
- Poetry nights & open mic events
- Cultural celebrations
- Community-led programs
- Workshops in painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, music, dance, and more
- Affordable space rental for individuals or groups hosting their own classes or workshops
"The Jamb will expand our mission beyond visual art," said the Jambalaya Arts Inc. board. "We're creating a space where everyone-artists, musicians, poets, performers, and community members—can explore their creative voice."
Community Support Needed
To make this vision a reality, Jambalaya Arts Inc. has launched a fundraising and sponsorship campaign to support renovations, programming, and long-term sustainability of The Jamb. Community members, businesses, and arts supporters are encouraged to get involved. Donation platform website: https://jai.betterworld.org/donate
